Pumpkin patches & corn mazes can provide hours of entertainment for kids and kids-at-heart! Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Maze, north of Seattle, is quite popular, so visit them online to purchase advance tickets! South of Seattle in Kent, Carpinito Brothers Pumpkin Patch and Farm Fun Yard serves up views of Mt. Rainier and hot apple cider!

Go for a hike! Catch the fall colors before the North Cascades Highway closes for the winter on the Heather-Maple Pass Loop Trail. Not up for a drive + 7.5 mile hike? The Washington Park Arboretum, Kubota Garden and Bellevue Botanical Garden have easy trails and gorgeous fall colors a bit closer to home!

Spot Chinook and Sockeye salmon making their way to local streams where they were hatched. A great spot for fish-spotting in October and November is the Cedar River in Renton and Maple Valley where Naturalists answer questions and educate the public about the salmon migration on October weekends.

Calling all choco-holics! The Northwest Chocolate Festival will take place in early November with seminars, samples, exhibits and, of course, a wide array of chocolate delights for purchase.
